ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
An evolution in community residential care services, 6Beds Foundation (the Foundation) embodies the best of both worlds in supportive residential housing and Service Providers. Founded as a non-profit organization on March 2017 by seasoned veterans in residential care and advocacy, Gina Wasdyke and George Kutnerian, and backed by of some of California’s biggest Service Providers, the Foundation’s mission is to create residential housing and support for California’s most vulnerable — those with developmental disabilities, mental illness, physical disabilities and those with often higher acuity. In effect, the Foundation will help government agencies and various State organizations create person-centered housing and services in both licensed and unlicensed settings.
WHY THE FOUNDATION
On April 19, 2017, the Foundation was officially unveiled on Advocacy Day at the Capitol, hosted by 6Beds, Inc., the Foundation’s sister organization. 6Beds, Inc., an advocacy-based association of over 480 residential facility owners (representing over 2,000 California facilities) is the source of the Foundation’s statewide network of partnered Service Providers.
